Back in August of 2016, Brandon started attending the University of Alabama. One year later, Grace moved across the country to UA. They both spent plenty of time around the engineering quad on campus, and enjoyed going to football games… And then five years passed without crossing paths.

After graduating college, Grace moved to Huntsville for work, where Brandon was already living and working. They both were attending Church of the Highlands, getting involved with small groups and serving… Another year passed, and they still never met.

Eventually, they matched on Hinge. They were both nervous, since neither had ever met up with anyone from a dating app before. Despite this, the date went great! Three more weeks passed before Brandon asked her out again. He had a good reason though, he was exploring Europe with his sister. Although Grace just told people he fled the country immediately after meeting her.

While getting to know each other, they discovered they had a lot in common. They spent time together in the kitchen, trying new recipes. They saw some great artists perform in concerts, and started serving with each other at church. They went to art museums and festivals. They started meeting each other's families, and Brandon especially bonded with Grace's mom over gardening. Another thing they had in common was an interest in travel, so they went on a road trip out west with his mom and aunt. They were able to see 6 national parks including the Grand Canyon over one week in a minivan, and they somehow didn't get sick of each other. Five weeks after coming back home, Brandon proposed!
